There is nothing I love more than spending the day with my family. Watching the kids play & getting to see their little personalities develop is just the neatest thing ever! We were so lucky to get some snow days here & were able to spend some fun days playing in the snow with the kiddos! It's not real often we have the opportunity to get actual snow so how could we not take the babies out? I think they had fun...well at least Sadie did, brother wasn't so sure but it was also nap time but Sadie really wanted him to go out! LOL! Colts Birth story 11-8-09

I was looking back over my post & realised I never did tell the story of my sweet baby Colt's birth, sooooo long overdue here goes. I remember I was well overdue being ready to have him and thought every week for the last 3 that was going to be the week. So the Wednesday before my due date (Nov. 4th) I was due to go in for my 40 week appointment when the midwives office called me to let me know we would need to move to another day since the midwife was sick...well I had been having contractions that morning but was going to wait until we got to the office to talk about them, so I mentioned it when they called. She called the midwife that was at the hospital (there are 4 in our office) and they wanted me to come in. after being on the monitors for a while they said yes I was definitely having contractions & they were about 3 minutes apart but they were not strong enough. She said I was probably in early labor & had two choices 1) she could break my water & we could have baby Colt within 24 hours or 2) I could go home & wait it out. After talking it over with Jim-Britt we decided it would be best to wait him out...we didn't want to chance an un-necessary c-section due to my body not being ready to go. After a couple days (Friday) I decided he was not coming anytime soon I was just going to carry on as if I would be pregnant the rest of my life LOL! Well D day comes I went to get my hair done & did a little shopping...I also realised I hadn't yet taken a picture in the dress my mom had worn with me so I also did that & am sooo glad I did.

At the end of the day we were just hanging out at home and around 8:30 I noticed my contractions were coming on again so I decided to take a warm shower to see if that would help them stop...well it didn't. I realized I was in labor about 30 minutes later when Sadie asked me for a drink & I could not even stand to walk to the fridge to get her water and WOWZER they would not stop...I had to stay leaned over the couch to ease them up...I told Jim-Britt to call my mom to meet us at the hospital & called the midwife to let them know I was coming in & was so relieved that Brenda was the one there (she delivered Sadie too) we arrived at the hospital about 10:45p & I was dilated to a 5!!
I was stoked already half way there! They asked me then if I was going to want an epidural & I said I would wait...
Prior to that they were asking me questions I could not even answer due to the pain but to get the epi I had to sign the papers.

By 12:00p it was in & I was feeling great.

The labor process was Much shorter & easier this time around.
Our good friend Vanessa took picture the whole time (even being 7 months pregnant herself) she was up with me all night & we tried to let Jim-Britt rest but since we were busy chatting he really couldn't. LOL I was so excited I couldn't sleep. THANK YOU AGAIN VANESSA!!

I must at this point add that I have the best husband & labor coach, the nurses even commented on how great he was with my 22 hour labor with Sadie so this 10 hour labor was much easier for him...I love & appreciate him so much for his tenderness. \
After being up off and on all night when the urge came to push I tried to stay calm while waiting for the nurse to come back in. It had been a very long night & I was ready to get the show on the road, in addition to fearing my midwife would be getting relieved before this baby came (her shift ends at 7am). Well the nurse was supposed to come in at 6:15a & check me but she didn't come and boy was I getting anxious, Vanessa laughed & said I was really about to have that baby because my attitude was sure changing from happy to irritated she wasn't coming. Well 6:45a comes & she comes in....I was at a TEN WOOHOO!! Time to push once Brenda got there....I asked her if Jim-Britt should get his gloves on (they let him help catch both our kids) she said no there was time but quickly changed her mind after the first push....she said it was not going to take long at all & she was right 2 more pushes & he was out!!!

Big sister had been waiting all night along with Grandma, Grandpa & G's. Mimi & Aunt Sissy drove in from Lubbock in time to be there before he was born. Sadie stayed up all night except for a 45 min nap around 2:30a I would say she was excited...
So baby Colt was born November 8, 2009 7:15am 9 lbs 9 oz 20.5inches long. When he was born he had swallowed amniotic fluid & they had to get it out of his lungs. After we sent time together as a family (about an hour) where Sadie was able to enjoy her bubba

We had our family that was waiting come back & see the newest member, there were lots of pictures taken & hugs to go around. While everyone was visiting they had taken my blood pressure & it was a little high so they went ahead & took Colt to the nursery & kept me in L&D to be observed while I rested to make sure it would go back down...so they told everyone they had to go so I could rest, so everyone went up to watch Colt's first bath

& to my shock his first bottle with formula!

I was upset when I got the call they were giving it to him, I wanted him to exclusively breastfeed & was worried that would interfere. Later the pediatrician on call came down to talk to me, he was so sweet & told me Colts blood sugar was pretty low & they had to give him formula to help it come to a normal level. After talking with him I was much more calm he assured me it would not affect his nursing & e was right. After resting & being apart from my baby far longer than I wanted (4 hours) I was beyond ready to see him & hold him again. So I was very excited when the midwife said I could go to my room after a little nap that was very hard to get started..LOL. All in all after 10 hours of waiting for him to arrive it was over & I had my sweet baby boy! He is such a precious part of our family & I am blessed to be his Mommy. That was a a day I will always cherish! I hope you enjoy the pictures & video as much as I enjoy looking back on them!

Arkansa Vacation

We decided we wanted to take a vacation my first of three weeks off work, so we came to Arkansa!!! The trip here wasn't too bad, Windsey as Sadie calls our dear friend Lindsey rode with me & the kids while Daddy rode with Jett (Jeff). We are staying at the Meadow Pine Cabins & they are beautiful!! It's a two story little cabin with two bedrooms & a room for a hot tub!! Woohoo!! And yes we all (with the exception of Colt) got in! What a relaxing place!! Our first day here we took the four wheelers out & just rode the trails here on the property & Jeff after nearly throwing Lindsey over the top of him got his ATV stuck. LOL Pictures below!! The second day we took the ATV's to Wolfpen Gap to ride even more trails. AFter Jim-Britt & Jeff rode for a while I followed Jeff & Lindsey for a while on the trails. While we were heading back a SNAKE fell out of the tree almost on top of Lindsey & Jeff & I just barely missed going around him. It was a big black snake Jeff HAD to check out...he said he didn't THINK it was poisonous. That's reassuring, as Lindsey & I are adament about him putting it down (he was holding it with a sick). So he did thankfully, and off we went back to base! Jim-Britt was just chilling with the kiddos & when we got back he & Jeff took turns doing the jump on the warm up trails so I could get a pic. We headed back to the cabin after a couple hours & Sadie & I got in the hot tub while Colt was sleeping, Jeff, Lindsey & Jim-Britt went fishing. Now it's our last full day here, the guys are out riding, Lindsey & I are here with the kids and I thought I would post a little about our trip!

Sadie's TWO!!

So our sweet baby girl is officially a toddler!! Sadie just celebrated her 2nd birthday & what a great day it was. I took my little princess for some Mommy daughter time to start her birthday off while Colt stayed behind. We didn't do too much just went to chick-fil-a to eat & play. We also had an ice cream for my birthday girl, afterward we did a little shopping & went to pick up balloons!! It was such a busy morning & she was such a little trooper. After setting up it wasn't long before it was time to party!! We had lots of friends & family who came out to help us celebrate! A game Uncle Jason & Morgen had us play was Ninja, very fun to play & even funnier to watch!! Sadie had such a great time & was such a big girl. She was the princess of her party with her little brother Colt as the prince. We got to spend time with so many people & Sadie was very social. I think all in all it was a success for my first at home party. We missed the family & friends who could not be there. There are many more pictures on Facebook just too many for this blog. There will be a vacation post soon!

Colt's 4 month check up

So we went to take Colt to his 4 month check up....Grandma went with us to help with Big sister Sadie so Mommy could focus on Colt with the dr (thanks Grandma!!). He is such a good baby he just cooed & blew bubble the whole time & smiled as the doctor looked him over (he had no idea shots were coming though). He weighed in at 15.5 lbs-45%, height 27"-94% not bad compareded to what his sister was at that age; She was 26 inches long (96%) 14.9 lbs (69%)! As we waited for the nurse to come back to do the shots Sadie sat on the table with "Cokie" & made a ball out of the table paper & we palyed catch for a little bit. Colt was happy until I layed him down...I bet he knew it was coming he started fussing until Mommy held his hand. When she stuck him he jumped a started crying (but not too bad) as soon as Mommy picked him up & gave his his paci he was all better. Anyway he's had his Tylenol & is feeling pretty good, or seems to anyway. And speaking of Paci's I must report Big Sister Sadie no longer has hers!! I'm so proud of her...while she was staying with my cousin for a little bit she helped Sadie "loose" her paci & before I knew it she was all done!! It has made life sooooooo much easier, I'm so grateful to Amy for helping get it gone!! That's all for now....gotta tend to the babies!

Is it March already? I can not believe Colt will be 4 months old tomorrow and our precious Sadie is almost two!! Both kids are fantasic and growing so quickly it seems. Somedays I feel like it is going by way to fast & I just want to freeze time with my babies to enjoy it just a little longer. And other days I just love where they are at, but look forward to them being a little bigger. I love it when Sadie tells me "I dud you mommy" traslated to "i love you mommy" it is so sweet. Here are a few of my favorite Sadie saying at this point:

Her little voice is so sweet I hope I remember it forever. And I will also tell you she is an AWESOME big sister, who loves her little brother so much!
Colt is getting so big, he now laughs so much!! He is a really happy baby & smiles at everyone. He always lights up when he sees his sister.
I think he will be sitting up before I know it, he loves his exersaucer

(we have to put a book under his feet so it's easier for him to reach LOL).

I also got a new camera & Sadie & Colt are great subjects to practice on. Big sister didn't mind so much but after several shots this is what I get from her LOL

Colt 3 Months

Our baby boy will be 3 months tomorrow, wow where is the time going?? He is such a sweet boy and a great baby. He smiles ALL the time now & even laughs at us too. He really loves his big sister, when she comes within his sight he just smiles at her. I took his 3 month old pictures & wanted to share...I took 118 total but here are just a few!

Well here it is February, can you believe it?? I have a feeling this next year is going to fly by. The kids are doing great growing more & more every day. Colt smiles (social smiles) and has even laughed a few times...he's starting to "talk" more & more. Sadie is a foutain of knowledge now days, she sometimes suprises us with the things she remembers. One of her favorite things to sing is twinkle twinkle & say her "A B'S" as she likes to call her ABC's. Her favorite thing to say is "Oh Crap" we are trying to replace with "Oh no". Anyway that is pretty much it for now....Here are a few pics from the last few weeks...

2009 Comes to an End

Well as we closed out 2009 we had a fantastic Christmas & New year. So this was Sadie's first year to understand what's going on at Christmas. She had so much fun with the excitement of Christmas morning. We did get a white Christmas & it ws beautiful, she had a little cold so she couldn't go out & play Christmas Eve. We asked her to say "Happy Birthday Jesus" and she managed a version of it calling Him "Jezee" it was very sweet. And after my last post where she hates Santa...now she loves him (from a distance) and says "Santa? Where'd he go?" LOL!! We spent Christmas day at home just the four of us & just enjoyed the family time. We spent the next day at my moms & had a really good time. Sadie got her first kitchen & looooved it!! She is so cute "cooking" her favorite thing to make is hot dogs.

Mimi came in for New Years & spent the day of new years eve at our house with Jim-Britt & the kids, we had a wonderful visit & Colt got to go meet his great Papa Bill for the first time (their birthdays are a day apart). I went back to work the week before Christmas & it was much better than when I went back with Sadie, although I would much rather be at home with my babies. All and all 2009 closed out pretty good & 2010 isn't starting out too bad. We are so thankful for our friends & family the Lord has blessed us in so many ways & I am so grateful.
And the last big event before Christmas was Jeff & Lindsey got married!! On December 18th we were so glad to be a part of their special day. Lindsey made such a gorgeous bride and the wedding was awesome! Jeff is a lucky man & we won't let him let this one get away we llove her & we are keeping her!! It's begining to look a LOT like Christmas

My mom & I took the kiddos to see Santa today. It went exactly like I thought it would: Colt was very content & Sadie was so sweet saying hi & waving but when I went to place her on his lap she developed a death grip on my shirt & I had to pull her off me. I am not however one of those parents that will continue to torture my child durring this moment of fear until they calm down & smile, or at least stop screaming, I advised the lady before we even started if she starts crying just take the picture...don't try to make her happy just snap it. They were just as pleased with that option and did exactly that...here is what we got enjoy!!

It's hard to believe our sweet baby is already 3 weeks old & I am half way through my maternity leave :-( very sad for me!! But at least it isn't as hard as when I left Sadie (I had it in my head somehow I was never going back to work LOL) anyway here are a few pics of our kiddos the last few weeks at home.

We are also preparing for two of our best friends upcoming wedding!! We can not wait to celebrate that day with Jeff, Lindsey, their family & friends!! What an exciting time of year!! Congrats guys!!!

We have been home for a week with our sweet babies and I am really enjoying this time with our kids! Colt is such a good baby eats & sleeps, only cries when he is hungry or wet. We are so blessed with two wonderful children, what a gift from the Lord! Sadie is a sweet big sister, she always wants to touch & love on her baby brother. She is a really good helper too, tries giving Bubba his paci when he's crying & going with Mommy to lay him down in his bed. Here are a few pics from our first week:

Welcome baby Colt!

We welcomed our sweet baby boy into our family on Sunday November 8th at 715am. He weighed in at 9.9 lbs & 20.5 inches long a very big boy! We were so blessed to have some of the family (Grandma, Granpa, Geez, Mimi, Aunt Sissy and of course big sister Sadie) waiting out his arrival! Our good friend Vanessa was also there thru it all with us & captured his arrival into this world in photos for us! Mom & baby are doing great & we are very happy to have such a sweet healthy little boy to add to our family! Here are a few pics from the big day!!

The big move

So we moved this past weekend & we are sooo excited about our new neighborhood! It is very quite & we have a park just up the road perfect for the kids to play at. (pics later) Everyone kept telling me the move would surely bring on labor but to my disapointment it did not. But the great news is we are set up & ready for when he decides to come YAY!! I feel GREAT today, better than I have in a loooong time with him so I won't complain about him setting up camp a few more days-weeks whatever LOL!! So until Wednesdays appointment have a great day!!!

Dr. Appointment 10-29-09

So I went for my 39 week appointment & all is well!! Colt is very happy in the home I have made for him & thinks he'll stay just a bit longer! The good news is I am on my way though I am dialated 3 CM & 60%effaced so that was encouraging (although I know labor can still be weeks away) at least I know my body is gearing up for the big day. With Sadie I was getting my epidural at 3 CM LOL!! Anyway so now it is just a waiting game so until next week we'll see!!! Thanks for keeping up with us!

Hospital trip

Jim-Britt & I ended up going to the hospital on Friday night around 9pm, I had been having contractions since around 10am. Around 720 we started timing them & they were coming 3 min apart for an hour, which is when the midwife said we needed to call to come in, so we called. The contractions weren't unbearable & by talking with me over the phone she said she didn't think I was in active labor but that I could come in & get checked and they would check the contractions to see what was going on & if I wanted to go home after that it was fine. So we went in, mine & Colts heart rate was elevated when we got there & turns out I was very dehydrated which was causing the contractions & our heart rate being up. So they gave me 4 liters of IV fluids & some medicine for nausea.....even after the fluids I was still a little "dry" (which is what they kept saying) but we were ok'd to go home around 2am, since Colt & I were doing better & the contractions were going away. I'm always nervous about going to the hospital & it not being necessary so I felt better when she said I did need to come in with that going on. Jim-Britt was such a great support, I know those chairs are not comfy at all, and he never once complained about a thing even though he was exhausted too. Thanks Babe for being so great!!

Dr. Appointment Update

I went to my midwife appointment today I am now 37 weeks & 5 days! Everything was good, Colt's heartbeat was nice & strong & he is measuring 38 weeks (right on time). I have been having contractions since yesterday around lunch time, not actual labor contractions just Braxton hicks but they are getting my body ready for D-day. I am dialated to a 2 so I was REALLY excited to hear that, I guess those contractions are doing their job!!! YIPPEEEE!!! The funny thing is when I was pregnant with Sadie I was 37 weeks & 6 days when I delivered her kinda crazy to think about. Anyway we have our next appointment next week on the 29th so unless Colt has other plans & comes before then the next blog will be on the 29th....stay tuned!!

I am now 37 weeks & thought what better time to do some materity & Family pics since this will be the last family pics with just Mommy, Daddy & Sadie. We had a fantastic photographer (thanks mom) that got some really great shots of us! My belly now measures 42 inches & I'm 155lbs as of the 37 week check up! YEA!! Love my growing belly! 37 week check up

I went to my 37 week check up today (36 weeks & 5 days) and can't believe we are on weekly appointments now!! WOW this is flying by!! Anyway they measured the belly & he is right on track, I was really glad to hear that since his Daddy was a rather "large" baby (11lbs 8.5oz) and last week when I was 35 weeks & 4 days they said I was measuring 37 weeks!! So I asked why he was measuring bigger last week & she said it could just be the position he was in whew, what a relief!! She said her guess is he will be about 7- 7.5 pounds at birth I really hope she's close. I lost a pound from last week so I'm at an even 20 gained & measured around my belly at Vanessa's & am 42 inches around...crazy!! So all is well with Colt and he should be here anytime in the next 3 weeks (if we don't go over). Just wanted to update you all, have a great weekend!

IL trip July 07 pics

Ok so I am getting around to posting the pics from out family reunion trip to IL this summer that I couldn't post before. So to start off with here are a few of the state signs we were able to stop by on Sadies first road trip over the state line. To date she has travled to 7 (at least) states! Not bad by 15 months if I do say so myself...

34 weeks

Well I am officially eight and a half months pregnant today!! Just 6 short weeks to go!! Here's a new pic of the baby belly!! I Sure love feeling my son just roll around in there it is an amazing thing, God is so awesome!!

TWENTY NINE!! Already??

I just celebrated my 29th birthday this weekend, 29 REALLY?? Where has the time gone? I feel like I am still just a kid maybe 18-19 somewhere in there, then it hits me....no I am a 29 year old wife with soon to be two kiddos! WOW I'm a grown up! LOL To celebrate my birthday this year Jim-Britt asked if I would like to get a hotel room on Friday & just get a little mini vacation for the night just the three of us. We decided to go to the Gaylord Texan it was such a beautiful hotel. We were both just in awe of how huge that place is. After check in we ordered a pizza & they said it would be about an hour so we walked around the gorgeous lobby area. Sadie loved the little town with the train that went around it, they had several train exhibits. They also have a mini river walk that is very pretty, we had a great view from our room of the sports area that had a HUGE screen where they played the games. It was a very relaxing nice way to kick off my birthday weekend. Saturday I spent the day with my mom, Lindsey, her mom Kathy & Margaret dress shopping for Lindsey's big day in December! We had such a good time with the girls & a very yummy lunch that night! It was a great day that ended at Bruce & Margaret's with steak, potatoes & a football game. I love our friends & couldn't ask for better ones! Sunday we just took it easy at home until we went to eat that night for a birthday dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse (Mmmmm) with some family & friends. I appreciate all the calls & messages wishing me a happy birthday & those of you that were there to celebrate thank you! I love my family & friends you guys are awesome!! So one more year in my 20's, I'll enjoy it while it's here time seems to just fly by now days! Here are a few of the pics from the next AM.

It amazes me that there are only 7 more weeks (well in 2 more days) until our baby boy is due to be here. I can't wait to meet him & see if he looks just like his big sister and am excited to see what kind of personality he will have. I love being a mom so much and am so lucky to have been blessed with these two wonderful babies. It's a little overwhelming sometimes to think about having two kids under the age of two but then I know God is in control and thought we can handle it and then I'm fine. So we wait, as D-day is quickly approaching I can't help but enjoy these last few weeks with Sadie as an only child & prepare for all the great times that we will have as a new family of FOUR!! WHOA!! So far all is well with the pregnancy & we are right on track which is great, have I mentioned I LOVE BEING PREGNANT!!! It is the most amazing thing (other than meeting & loving your baby when they get here) and I can't believe it is almost over (tear) :-)

Granbury Lake

My friend Tiffany & I took our kids to the awesome lake I was taking about a few post ago (with no pics of it) Granbury Lake on Saturday. We all had such a good time playing in the water & getting some sun. We packed lunchs & drinks & prepared for a fun few hours just hanging out. Her boys loved Sadie & the feeling was mutual. They entertained her the whole trip there & back, and were such great helpers with keeping up with her at the lake. Grandma, Uncle Bubba, Morgen, Sadie & I all went on a trip (the 1st for Morgen & Sadie) to Hurricane Harbor. We all had such a good time!!! With me being in the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy I couldn't ride anything anyway so what better time to take Sadie & let her play in the kiddie pool & float around the lazy river. We ended up spending ALL day there!

This year we will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary on August 28th. Since we have become parents the thought of leaving Sadie while we go somewhere is just isn't what we want to do. So this year & last year we do a family activity for our anniversary: last year was a low key tri'p to Lake Whitney (thanks Dad & Liz for letting us stay at the house) whith her when she was just 4 months old. This year I had to plan my vacation time a week before our anniversary so we decided to go to Glen Rose & visit Dinosaur World with Sadie & then go to lake Granbury to this little well kept secret beach that was just gorgeous!! We just got pics at the Dino World so I will share those. Sadie had such a good time walking the path with Mommy & Daddy....(mommy mostly took pics of her & Daddy). She kept saying "More, more" every time we would pass some dino's it was too cute!! She also loved playing in the water at the little kid water park they had at the beach. When I would try & take a break she would walk over to me & push my legs in the direction of the water, she wasn't quite brave enought to do it alone just yet, which is fine with me!! I love her "needing" me to help her & be with her still, I know one day that will be gone far to fast! Well here are the pics of the day we had! Here are a few pictures of Sadie from about January to now (15 mo) that I thought I would post. As Colts arrival get's closer I realize my "baby" is turning into a big girl so fast!! She is such a blessing and sometimes I can't believe God would trust me with such a precious angel. I wonder can I be the best Mom I can be to do justice to this little girl. We are so thankful He decided we were the ones she needed, I never knew but all of my life I've needed her. She makes us who we are now & we strive to be better & better because of her. IL Vacation part 2

We got up on Sunday morning went down and had a yummy breakfast as a little family & off we went from Mt. Vernon IL to Memphis TN!! We were so excited about getting to go see the ducks at the Peabody hotel & to visit Graceland. We knew we would not have time to do both Sunday so we made sure to get there to see the famous ducks in the fountain make their exit. Sadie was very excited as she sat in her stroller she just kept saying, "Duck, duck duck duck" and so on. We had a front row seat right on the carpet as they left, it is always so neat to see them when we come through TN. Afterward we were off to find a hotel, we ended up staying in this nice little place off the beaten path but in a very nice area in Memphis. The next morning we packed up & headed to Graceland. I have LOVED that place since I was a kid going with my mom after our reunion trips, at one point my childhood best friend & I thought we were going to buy it!! LOL I was surprised how much Morgen & Jason liked it as well!! All and all it was a great trip, if my hubby had been there I could have stayed longer but we were beginning to miss him terribly! Thank you MOM for a wonderful time on our IL family reunion vacation!! Sadie & I had a great time!!

This year we spent the 4th with Grandma & Uncle Bubba. Jim-Britt helped Jason with his horse then we all went out to lake Bridgeport where the boys road the jet ski...Mom, Sadie & I hung out in the shallow end in some chairs enjoying the sun. Sadie had such a good time in the water and was such a big girl! After getting back to the house & catching the pig...that's right I at 5 months pregnant helped Jason chase down & catch his little pig to go back into the pin, we got ready to go to a cookout & watch some fireworks! I'm having trouble posting pics today but I'll try again in a little bit!!

IL Vacation

Sadie & I are on a vacation with Grandma, Uncle Bubba & Morgen going to a family reunion in IL. We drove straight through Friday night so we could be there in time to see our family (cousins, great Aunts & Uncles that we see every few years). Here are a few pics of our drive up:

My mom & I used to go to IL every year when I was a kid with my grandparents and I really loved it, so I'm glad Sadie is getting to start the tradition now. I only wish my Grandma, Grandpa & Great Grandma that I was very close to were here to see her too, they would have LOVED her!! She was by far the youngest of the group at the reunion. After eating and catching up with everyone it was time to head out, so we drove to Greenup where my Great grandparents had lived, I spent quite a bit of time in the house as a kid on the summers we would come up & it looks the exact same as I remember it which was neat:

BOY!!!! We found out we are having a baby boy on June 23rd!! We were VERY suprised, we both were certain it was a girl. LOL I really wanted both so in no way was I disappointed to find out we are now going to have one of each. His Daddy was very happy he really wanted a boy but would have been ok either way. So we are now more than half way there and baby Colt will be here before we know it. I am posting a sono pic of his perfect little hand & foot, he is very active all the time, I can't wait to meet my precious boy. Sadie is so sweet whenever she sees the sono pics on the fridge she says "Bubba" it's so cute how she picked up that is her bubba so quick, but she's been telling me for quite some time she was having a bubba!! HAHAHA!!!

What a big girl we have....

Here we are now with a big girl and half way to having another sweet baby. We will find out on the 23rd what baby #2 is!! Aghhhhh can't wait!!! I wanted to update everyone on what Sadie is doing now. I am so proud of my little girl, she is just under 14 months & she already uses TWELVE words regularly!! The list is in no paticular order: Momma, Dadda, Hi, Bye-Bye, Bite, Bubba, Uh-huh, Uh-Oh, Dog, Cat, Papa & Up. She can also knows where her ear, nose, mouth, toung, head, foot, toes, fingers & arms. On top of all of that see signs "more", "thank you", "all done" & "drink". She's blowing kisses, giving high fives & waving when asked to. I just can not believe how much she has learned in just her 1st short year of life. We recently took her to Grammy & Grampy's for Grampy's birthday & an early father's day. She had such a good time eating watermellon swimming (well some) and just spending time with her cousins, Aunts & Uncles. Here are a few pics of my girl enjoying her time.

It is one week and one day until Sadie turns one...I can hardly believe it, how does a year pass so quickly? It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home & doing the up all night thing trying to figure out this parenting thing. But on the other hand I feel like she has always been with us & I don't remember what my life was before her. We have been blessed beyond measure with her & thank God for her. She is such an active fun baby, she has taken a few steps & is trying to figure out the whole walking thing now. It kind of makes me sad because then my baby will be a little bit more grown up. We found out when Sadie was 10 months old that she will be a big sister come November!!! She will be such a great big sister she loves other kids so much. Well I just wanted to post a picture of our big girl before her birthday on April 24th!!

Sadie was dedicated to the Lord on Sunday March 1st! What a day to celebrate!! We had so many friends & family there, almost all of her grandparents the one's from Hawaii couldn't make the drive for obvious reasons LOL but the rest were there & accounted for. Her Aunts, Uncles & cousins came too!! It really blessed my heart to see so many take time out of their day to come to such a special event for our daughter, we know she really means so much to those of you there & we thank you for loving her. Even her adoptive Aunts (Lindsey, Margaret, Charlotte & Vanessa) & Uncles (Jeff & Bruce) were there with their kids to support us! Sadie loves to be the center of attention so while we were up front (once she got past being mesmerized by Pastor Bill) she was waving to her family in the audience. She got several new bibles very cute picture frames & an album for her photos we took! Sadie had such an exciting weekend that was topped off with this day...Later I will add the photo of the group shot & some of the pictures of her day! Thanks again to everyone who came to church & out to eat afterward! We appreciate you all & love you so much!!! To those of you who couldn't make it we understand and appreciate your prayers for us as we prepared for this day!

Todays post is from when we found out we were pregnant with our sweet baby Sadie: I had suspicions that I was pregnant the day after we had Jim-Britt's graduation party from the Fire Dept. on Sept. 2, 2007 which was a Sunday. So I decided to take a pregnancy test on Monday the 3rd and it was negative....or so I thought. So things were still feeling "funny" so I took another test, while Jim-Britt was at work again, on Thursday the 6th well it was POSITIVE!! I could hardley belive it so I took 5 more test & went & bought another brand test to be sure. I was so thrilled!! I wanted so bad to call & yell it over the phone but I wanted to tell him in person so I settled for telling our dog Riley 1st that night! LOL! So it had to wait until the next day! After what seemed like the longest work day of my life I was on my way home, I stopped by Barnes & Nobel to get a book "The Expectant Father" to tell Jim-Britt our great news. I got home & said, "Honey I picked you up a suprise." He excitedly opened his bag (he LOVES suprises!!) When he saw the book he just kind of looked at it, I noticed it wasn't clicking...so I said read the inside (I had written a note of what a great dad he was going to be & how excited I was to start this jouney with him) Then there it was the light went off! He looked at me & said, "Really??" Then he just hugged me & the awesome journey of pregnancy began!! And what a blessing the whole process of it & haveing Sadie has been!! So there you have it! The end~

WOW my little baby is now 9 months old as of today! I can't believe in 3 short months we will be celebrating Sadie's first birthday!! We went to celebrate my niece Raven's 16th birthday out at her house with a bonfire. What a blast!! Sadie had a good time her first day of being 9 months old, she spent the evening with several teenagers holding & playing with her. She is such a social little bug, never meets a stranger, she can be clingy to mom, but for the most part she'll let just about anyone hold her. Here are a few pics from the bonfire.....

My step sister Chelsea & her husband Ross welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Cambree Alise, into our lives on January 19, 2009 at 6:01p weighing in at 4lbs 2oz. Cambree was not due to arrive until March 14th, but as you can see it just didn't happen that way! Mom & baby are doing great, Cambree is breathing on her own but is in the NICU until she is ready to go home. Chelsea is an amazing Mom, what a trooper....the night she had the baby I asked her how she was (after having an emergency C-section) and her answer to me was, "If she's ok, I'm ok" never once complaining about any of the situation. They are just happy their precious little girl is doing well. My sister Brandy & I went today to see Chelsea & meet our newest niece, we were shocked to se Chelsea walk into the waiting room she looked FANTASTIC, she had a glow about her just like any new mother. Brandy went in to meet Cambree first since she lives further away & I had gotten to visit Chels the night they had her, I knew my sister was anxious so in she went to scrub up. After what seemed like an eternity the doors to the NICU opened & it was my turn to go in (they only allow 2 at a time). After scrubbing up Chelsea led me over to where her sweet little angel was resting under the lights....I was amazed looking at her just so perfect.

I could have starred at her forever she is so pretty!! Anyway just wanted to share my first of many visits with Miss Cambree. Thank you Chelsea for sharing your little one with me today, she is just perfect, Congrats to you all again!!

So I stole this idea from my good friend Vanessa, I like the idea of looking back at our lives to see how far we've come:

I'm going to do this first post on our wedding day August 28, 2004. After just 3 weeks of planning we had a great wedding day!! We got married at 11:00am because I could not go ALL day know I was about to become a wife, I wanted to step into my new role as Mrs. Brown ASAP!! After being great friends for a year, we had dated for 3 fun filled years before getting married. From the time we were friends & would have conversations about the future I would think, "I would love to marry this guy, what a sweetheart!!" I never in a million years thought he would want to date me.......So when we began dating I was thrilled, he was everything I was looking for: kind, funny, loyal like no one I've ever met (and did I mention smokin' HOT!!) LOL just had to throw that in there! Things have only gotten better with time...I fall more & more in love with him all the time! Anyway here are a few pics from our big day:

Oh Sweet Sadie Baby!

We thought Sadie was going to bypass the whole crawling stage. She loves standing up and knows the whole walking process one foot in front of the other and even pulls up on stuff ALL the time! But, she finally did it, SHE CRAWLED!!! The first time was yesterday 1-21-09 (my nephew Mason's 12th birthday, Happy b-day!!) while I was at the dr. office. Jim-Britt sent me a text as soon as she did it, I couldn't believe it I was sooooo excited for our big girl. She's officially mobile now LOL. I've tried to capture it on video but you know kids, they never do what you want them to when you want them to!! So maybe I'll be able to post a video later of it, but here are a few pics of her standing up on her train!!

So we have gotten through our first holidays with our sweet Sadie. Now 8 months old & so active. She now says Momma, Dada (sometimes) and on New years Eve she said something I know none will believe, she said "Jesus"!! Yes Jesus, I know had I not been there & heard it myself I would have said no way!! One of the other ladies in our church was in the nursery with us & she was holding Sadie saying different things to her & Sherry kept saying Jesus....and after a few times Sadie said "Jesus", I just looked at Sherry & she said, "She said Jesus!!" I was shocked, I thought I was hearing things, and I just said "I know I can't believe that!" She's also in the process of learning to crawl, currently she goes backwards & she can scoot around on her bottom. We have to be very careful where we set her now because she is a little mover. Christmas was great she got lots of toys & clothes from family, Daddy & I got her a few toys & a bag of paper.....she LOOOOVED it! I think next year we'll shoot for a box LOL!!! Anyway that's what's going on so far more to post later!!

Thanksgiving week

This week I am off for the holiday & it's really got me thinking.....I have a lot of things to be thankful for. First my family, and not just my husband and daughter....I mean my WHOLE family, from my parents that have always been so awesome & supportive, my siblings that have been there through think & thin no matter what, and my in-laws that have just accepted me as a part of their family and treat me as if I have always been there...LOVE YOU GUYS!! Anyway I just wanted to tell our family & friends we are SO thankful for you & appreciate the time we get to spend with you.I'm thankful for the job I have (since I have to work) yes the drive stinks but at least it pays the bills huh? LOL! We have truly been blessed in our lives, and our biggest blessing of all was our sweet little angel Sadie Mae. Whenever everything is going wrong in the world, she is the one thing on this earth that can make my heart sing & put a smile on my face when I see her. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families & to our family if we don't see you that day please know we are thinking of you & hope you have a fantastic day!!

Tonight I am sitting here after putting Sadie to bed & I can't help but think about how fast time is going by. She is such an amazing little person and is just growing up before my eyes. I look back at all the pictures of her over the last 6 months & I am is shock over how fast it has gone by. I know with the upcoming holidays it will go even faster & we will be celebrating her 1st birthday!!! I just love each & every day with her & seeing the new things she has learned. She has such a loving smile & is very VERY social!!

I would also I love to take a moment to thank my husband for being such an amazing man! He has been so terrific with me working further away by making things a little easier for me when I am home. The only thing I have to do is spend time with our family. He is also such a WONDERFUL daddy to Sadie. Not many dad's get to have the time he is getting to have with her & I think it makes a HUGE difference. He is able to give her more than just what is left over after a day at work & after being a husband. They have such a unique relationship already & I am so thrilled about that. She & I have an awesome bond & now she & her dady have one too since he is able to stay with her.

That's all that's on my mind tonight, about to go lay down with the baby!

As some of you may know we have some very dear friends, the Delgado's (read their story here; http://goodtimesdelgadostyle.blogspot.com/) that are in need of prayer. Vanessa is near the end of her pregnancy (29 weeks) with conjoined twins Melody & Madison. This family just amazes me with their dedication to our Lord, with all they are going through they just want God to be to glorified for whatever He has for these two precious babies. The prayer request they have listed on their blog is:
"The immediate prayer requests:
1) God would be glorified through all of this no matter what the outcome is
2) That God would heal the babies heart and that it would be strong enough to work for both of these babies
3) That their chest cavity would be fully developed and that their lungs would be fully developed and that our babies would be able to breath
4) That I would not go into pre-term labor
5) Wisdom for the doctors during my pregnancy and the birth of our babies
6) Wisdom for us, because of some hard ethical decision we may have to make in the future concerning the twins
7) We would be bold witness' for Christ during this time!"

Father,
I pray you wrap your loving arms around this family, give them strength & prepare their hearts for whatever your will is for these two wonderful little girls. I also pray for healing of both babies & that you are glorified by their lives no matter how long. Thank you for these little angels you created for they were fearfully & wonderfuly made. We give praise & thanks to you Almight God!

Well I am now reporting to Richardson for work. YUCK! It is a crazy long drive, I've only done it for two days & it's pretty rough. Sadie & I crashed out at 7:30p last night & slept until 5:30a!!! And then the craziest thing happened to me, I had booked it to work with the girl I am carpooling with & looked down, my gas gage said 5 miles to EMPTY!! WHAT!!?!? So we went to THREE gas stations & no one in Richardson had diesel, then it happened....I pretty much ran out of gas ironically at a GAS STATION!! LOL So roadside assistance came to give us fuel, now the funny thing is I sat in my car while it idling for THIRTY minutes while we waited for RSA. But I know had I taken a chance I would have broke down on the highway which would have been scary! But glory be to God that we made to a safe location, we were both praying to make it to the gas station, this showed me that God does give you what you need, however I was not specific in my need I didn't ask to get to a station with diesel!! We kept our sense of humor & were able to laugh about it! I didn't get home until 7:30p so I had a very short evening with Sadie but at least I got to spend some time with her before bed time! I love my sweet girl!

So Friday we (Sadie & I) went to Christmas in Cowtown with my mom, Margaret, Charlotte and her adorable baby boy Bryce. We had such a good time walking around looking at all the cute crafts & clothes they had. But my my they were VERY proud of their stuff $70.00 for a onesie that she will outgrow in an month or so?!?!? No way!!! The babies were soooo good, Sadie slept most of the time & Bryce was a good little shopper who stayed awake the whole time. Afterward Mom, me, Charlotte & the babies all went to have dinner at Chilis. It was great getting to visit with them both. It's alot of fun having friends with babies the same age as Sadie, makes me feel like a part of a very exclusive club. When they are crying other moms will just look at them with empathy then at you with a knowing glace it's kinda neat......All & all we had a fantastic time together, I look forward to many more girls & kiddos nights with my friends.

My oh my where has the time gone? It seems like I just had her yesterday, I wake up today & she's five months old!! She amazes me every day with the little things she does her newest thing being placing her hand (normally her left) on her head just behind her ear like she is posing!! I have yet to catch it on film! Every time she see's the camera she instantly stops what she was doing to make me get it out!! Typical I know, I tell everyone she acts like her daddy HAHAHA!! She talks up a storm; wonder where she get's that? I love her laugh & she also has this new thing of scrunching her nose when she smiles at you so so so cute!! I love this little girl more than I could ever explain to anyone. After having her I understand & appreciate the love of my parents, it is something you can never express to anyone & it is simply amazing. I could not imagine my life without my family it is what keeps me going every day! Sadie is my heart and there is nothing I wouldn't do for this precious little angel God has entrusted to my care. Hawaii

We went on our first BIG vacation this past September to Hawaii!! It was such a beautiful place I just couldn't believe it. Sadie did so great on the flights both there & home (20 hours roundtrip travel) I think she may have cried a total of 8 min. we have the best baby girl EVER!! We got to Hawaii around 1am our time (there is a 5 hour diff.) and we were still ready to go, but the town shuts down at dark :-( so we couldn't see too much that night. We spent the first night at my in-laws house (they live there) since we couldn't check into the resort til the next morning. We had a little group that went together; me, the hubby, Sadie, Cindy, John & our friend Lindsey (Jeff, Jim-Britt's best friend was supposed to go but he got into the fire dept. YAY!). The first morning we got up & sent to the beach the days start early there since things close down around 7-8p, the days were so busy since we knew we were only there a week. John & I got a little beat up by the ocean but in Hawaii who can complain LOL! We went to the house to get cleaned up & then checked out downtown Kona....the shops were too neat, they had some really cool stuff.

We ate at Splashers & had their famous fish & chips Mmmmm I miss that already!! Sitting out on the balcony waiting for people accross the street to get splashed as the waves crashed over the wall, but no one did dang it!!

Monday we drove accrsoss the island to see the different sights. We went to Waipio Valley & it was just gorgeous!! We could not believe the view we had of the ocean & the mountains. We also wen to see the rainforest & waterfalls which were breathtaking. After a long day of driving we took it easy that evening & we knew we had a busy day the next day.

Tuesday Jim-Britt, Lindsey, Cindy, John & I all went deep sea fishing (Papa, Tutu & Aunt Sissy kept Sadie) we saw some pilot whales & tons dolphins out there. Jim-Britt caught a 100-120 lb blue marlin:

Wednesday we all went to the Fairwinds which is a snorkel cruise it was just amazing! That morning I had Jim-Britt help me get Sadie ready so he changed her so when we left I just grabbed her bag thinking it was ready to go. Little did I know when he changed her that morning he used the last diaper in her bag!! We were waiting to get on the boat & I felt something drip on my feet, I thought "What is that?", looked down & there was a puddle at my feet & something wet down my dress....I thought :I'm not peeing on myself am I?" LOL but I was holding Sadie in her ergo carrier & she had pee'd through her diaper & all down the front of me...even worse I had NO diaper for her! Sooooo we had to get a redneck diaper set up for my girl. One of the workers on the boat asked the captain & he suggested kitchen raggs & duct tape LOL We went one step further by putting pads in the towel before we duct taped it to her! It was so funny! Pictures will be posted later....

We did get to snorkel & it was very cool one thing that was very neat to me was when I would get close to the coral I could heat a crackeling noise no idea what it was though.

Thursday a few of us (me, Sadie, Jeri-Ann, Lindsey, Cindy, John & Trisha) went to the white sands beach to just relax & enjoy the day. I didn't know it until after I had gotten in the water that exact beach had been closed the weeks before due to SHARK SIGHTINGS!!! But we didn't see any, but I did see an eel attacking a crab & freaked out even though they are harmless LOL!! I was glad to find out Hawaii doesn't have any snakes (just an interesting fact I'd like to share) which was very good news to me! When we first got to the beach they had some parots up by the walkway in a large cage, Cindy wanted to take our picture by them so we were standing there & I was holding Sadie in her carrier & one of the birds started squawking really loud & scared the baby. She just stared crying poor thing!! Not much scares her but that danged ole bird did!

Friday (My 28th BIRTHDAY!!) we all went to snorkel beach to do some more snorkeling! It was so awesome we got to see so many awesome fish this is a very popular spot for snorkeling so we checked it out...after wards we all went to the condo then Lindsey & I went downtown for some more shopping! Then it was time to get ready for the lu'au!! That was fantasic!! Free Mia Tie's, great food, friends, family & the entertainment who could ask for more? I tried everything but the raw fish, I just couldn't go there! What a great way to spend your birthday huh?

We headed back home on Saturday night. The airport there is so cool it's all outdoor, which I had never been to in all the traveling I have done. For our first family vacation I'd have to so we had a pretty awesome time, even with the time difference and with an infant it was still a great trip. The only thing that would have made it any better is if all of our family could have been with us, but we had a blast with the ones who went!!

So this is our first post....we have many friends that blog so I thought "hey why not?" I don't have much time but for those random moments I get when the hubby is at work & the baby is in bed I figure I can do a little updating. As most of you know we have had our first baby, Sadie Mae, and she is such a little angel. I don't know how my life ever felt whole without her in it. Some of you know her quite well & for those of you who don't you are missing out ;-) on her cute little ways like how her smile will just light up the room and when she wants something she's real quick to let you know! LOL I can see some of both her daddy & mommy in her personality already. She LOVES everyone she meets & will give smile to get make you happy! I love to wake up to that little sweet smile every morning. I always said I would not let my baby sleep with me because of what society says, but we do & we love it. I have done reasearch on both sides to co-sleep or not to co-sleep & we have decided it works for us, so to each is own..... I'll end this blog of all my randomness with saying I can't believe our little Sadie is already 4 months old! And as some of my friends like to point out has already done so much in her short little life, and we are about to add a trip to Hawaii on her list in the next few weeks!!
